The elevation of any art depends upon its precise knowledge of the past and a currents understanding of the needs and necessities of the society. The employing of traditional culture, the inquiry into the mistakes and success of predecessors while responding to the needs of the society, will pave the way to discover innovate and original solutions. The present publication is an effort to recognize and preserve the valuable architectural heritage of Iran; not its palaces and monuments, but the unennobled architecture of the past which was interrelated to the common life of a society.
However, the preservation of such structures is impossible if not difficult and expensive without replenishing old structures with a new spirits.
